    Asheron's Call 2 - Beginner's Guide

As a returning player, I've seen a lot of new players asking the same questions. And, while I will still continue to answer these questions in-game, I'm going to start compiling the answers to some of the more frequent questions.

Depending on your race, you will start out in Arwic (Human, Empyrean, Drudge), Millstone (Lugian), or Kehan (Tumerok).

Butchering: One of the first things you'll want to do is craft a Crude Hunting Knife. This can be done in the Skills Tab (anvil icon) under Craft - > Tools - > Starter Tools. Once you've created a Crude Hunting Knife, you may now use it on the corpse of fallen foes. Simply double-click your knife, then click on the corpse. This is one of the ways you'll gather materials for crafting.

Unlocking the Drudge: When you log in, there will be a Mystic Siraluun Headdress in your Inventory. Turn this item in to the New Drudge Republic Representative (31.4N, 13.3W) in Cragstone.

Surveying: Surveying for minerals is a two-step process. Open your Map 'm' and make sure it is zoomed in, and "Lock to Player" is selected. As you use your surveying maps, blips will be displayed on the in-game map in one of four colors: red, orange, yellow, green. Red means you aren't close. Green means you're almost on top of the mineral node.

Additional maps can be created in the Skills Tab (anvil icon) under Craft - > Surveying - > Maps.

Gold: Items can be "sold" by dragging and dropping them into the Gold icon in your Inventory, or clicking the Gold icon when looting. Alternatively, items can be sold at consignment vendors.

Life Stone: Lifestones are resurrection points for when your character dies. You'll always come back to the last lifestone you linked to. Alternatively, ever character can, by default, recall to their lifestone at any time. The spell Lifestone Recall can be used in the default '0' hotkey, or found under the Special tab in the Skills Panel (anvil icon).

Instruments: There are many different instruments throughout Dereth. Most of them are found as random drops off creatures.

    Re: Asheron's Call 2 - Beginner's Guide

Rescue the Shelter Hold: This is the first quest in-game that you'll encounter and is relatively straightforward. There are 10 Training Stones in the shelter that will provide you will information on the basic gameplay of Asheron's Call 2. First talk to the Shelter Guard, then the Shelter Sentry.

This will be your first foray into combat. Use the '~' key to auto-attack. Loot the Imbued Digging Tool from the corpse of a Drudge Digger, and seek out the Shelter Scout. Turn in the quest item by dragging and dropping the item from your 'b' inventory and handing it to the NPC. Loot a Menhir Glyph from the corpse of a Drudge Sentinel, then head to the end of the dungeon. Double-click the glyph, then use it on the Mehnir Portal.

In the final section, you will speak to the Advance Shelter Scout, then head down the hallway and double-click the Menhir Shard.

I'd like to see this keep going. Any additional information you have is great! Also if you have information it seems that the AC2 Wiki site (http://www.ac2wiki.de/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page) has some, but could use the communities help filling in missing data.

This is true, but I figured the really determined could always run their heart out, lol.

Also, since I can't edit my old post, the first two mount quests are here: http://forums.ac.turbine.com/showthread.php?t=57422

this is great but unless we can locate the owners or admins/mods of the wiki site listed here we shouldn't be using it. No new pages can be created there unless you're in one of these groups: Sysops, AC2-Fan, Moderator, AC2-Dev-Team

so if we don't have an active member of one of those groups the site will become useless beyond the information already posted.
