    Re: Asheron's Call 2 - Reporting Issues

Yeah, it's still not working and I have installed the game 3 times now. It's still this dbghelp.dll that is not working. I downloaded an updated version of it. Put it into AC2 folder and it still didn't work, though I did get a different error. Something about "Entry Point Not Found". and "The procedure entry point wcsncpy_s could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll".

Anyone have any sort of idea what I should do to fix that?

If you haven't already, I recommend referring to one of my posts above:

I'd be interested to know if that solution works out for you.

I tried changing the install directory, but it still installed it under c:\games. Another user above had this same issue.

I entered my user/pass and clicked next and got this exception. I tried clicking the send email option but it said it could not find wab.dll. I don't use outlook or express as my email client.

That was me earlier. No, it did not help. However, I was wondering WHERE exactly I should put this file. Fairly certain I'm placing it in the right place. It's the same folder with all the other dll's and the aclauncer.

    Re: Asheron's Call 2 - Reporting Issues

~ For the dbghelp issue, I'll look into it tomorrow. I'm not sure why you are hitting this when others can log on fine. I would suspect a corrupted file, but you have downloaded multiple times. What Windows version are you using? Is there something unusal about your machine?

~ I don't know what the sound issue is. Do you have some kind of specific sound card?

~ If you don't want the client in \Games\Turbine you can just drag the folder elsewhere. The default configuration should work in other folders.

~ As for the launcher crash, I can't debug it from home but that doesn't look like any stack crawl in code I've modified. It looks like there is a closed network problem that the launcher isn't handling well. Do you have a local firewall that's blocking the launcher?

I tried a second time and my firewall popped up asking me to unblock the program. It works fine now.

    Re: Asheron's Call 2 - Reporting Issues

Tried twice now, downloading the akamai exe file. Both times I get an error when I try to unpack the zip.

1 Data error in 'AC2Install\AC2Install\AC2_1.cab'. File is broken
1 Data error in 'AC2Install\AC2Install\AsheronsCall2.msi'. File is broken
1 Data error in 'AC2Install\AC2Install\AC2 Manual.pdf'. File is broken

Any help would be great, thanks!

Edit: Using Windows 7 64bit BTW, if that matters?

I am using 64 bit Win 7 at work and it's working. Have you installed some kind of specific software for decompressing files?

You might try checking for viruses and malware in case something has attached itself to your download or decompression operations.

Hmmm. I don't know if the older AC2 code might have an issue with that sound card and the headset's override. I'd have to research that.
