    Re: Asheron's Call becoming free-to-play?

Asheron's Call was originally their first candidate to go F2P, before DDO. However, they found out that th e work involved would basically require rebuilding the game from the ground up. We were told, about 2 months ago, that it simply is not feasible for AC to become F2P at this time. Maybe in the future, but not now.

Dev's have stated that the AC engine/network would have to be entirely retooled to allow a F2P/micro-transaction situation to function. So no, not likely.

AC going F2P would permanently severe any relationship i have with Turbine or any of its games. AC is the last string. I will permanently avoid anything with Turbines name on it if AC goes F2P.

why's that? the F2P model was absolutely a positive development for DDO.

I can't see the problem with a F2P game. Why the animosity Waicodin?

F2P is never F2P. You want to do all the quests you can now? Ok pay for these quests now. Want access to DI? ok pay for it..

sorry no thanks just keep it what it is.

In the F2P games though, F2P and micro-transactions is just an option. You can still pay the standard monthly subscription for all the functionality you would expect from an MMO game.
