    That sounds great.

Looks like level 75 is the starting level.

Somehow I expect DT will not be happy about 'balance'.

You have me waiting for more announcements!!!!

So, is level 5 the cap on these new items?

The article speaks of rumors of items that may be able to reach level 3, but the image shows that item can reach level 5.

Wow. Wasn't expecting that on top of all the other things going in.

You know, several years back the players kept saying that they'd be willing to have lighter patches to have some bigger things put in. Knowing there was a big spring update bought some time from the players to wait on the big changes. Now that they are here, the anticipation is very high and it looks awesome.

Thanks for investing in AC and going for something material!

    Definitely some interesting things here.

Most of it seems pretty straight forward.

Very interesting. I like the HoT implementation.

So I am reading this right, there are 3 tiers (level 75, 150, and 225), and each tier has 5 levels?

It looks to me this will give reason for Level 275 characters to gain experience again - at least for their Aetheria.

    Question:

Will any of the Sigils or Surges impact Drains, Harms, or the other offensive Life spells at all?

The Scroll of Raven Fury is already ridiculously powerful, especially in the hands of a toon sporting 450+ health. I don't PK, but I would be concerned this might turn Raven Fury into a smite when a Surge was active.

That screen shot was of a test item meant only to show how experience on Aetheria would be displayed. Ignore the specifics of that shot. Aetheria can't, for example, be tinked.

From what I can tell it will make melee's that much better. Why?

At least from what I read the Surge effect. Though its not a big amount of damage its still going to matter. Especially since a melee can attack on fast attack speed and always hit which gives the Surge more chance to go off.

Before I hear the argument that mages will be able to do it to. Mages wont be able to do it as fast or as efficient because its sounds like a cast on strike type of this. If you dodge the mages spells there is no strike which means there isn't anything done.

I dunno. I like it though. Good job turbine. Thats the only thing i noticed. But wont know till we get to play with these new toys :P

Consider it ignored. I'll have to read it over again when I get home...too distracted at work. :P

Sigils and Surges that boost damage add to Damage Rating just like trinkets.

I suspect mages will favor the increased damage over the DoT surges since their big spells are slow to cast. On the other hand, I would not be surprised to see mages experimenting with strategies involving lots of quick spells fishing for a surge, and then swapping to big spells once the meaty 20 Damage Rating lights up.
